NEIMAN MARCUS SPRING PREVIEW

This past Tuesday- I attended the Neiman Marcus Spring Preview Designer Caravan showcase which was only open to representatives of major media & fashion mavens so for yours truly to be invited I was definitely flattered and flabbergasted by all the fiercity- a new word- for fashion. Amongst the attendees were Ms. Sue which I had the pleasure of modeling for in past Dillard's productions, Marques Harper of Fashion & Style Writer from the Austin American Statesman and made a new fashionista friend in the fabulous Miss Brandy Joy Smith- fashion editor and stylist for Austin Monthly Magazine. All of these local fashion police were present to peruse the pret-a-porter available for purchase at the Neiman Marcus at the Domain. We were served mimosas, fresh fruit and pastries as the models paced the runway in a minature fashion showcase of Miu Miu by Prada. Neiman Marcus also revealed the coveted SPRING LIST OF TRENDS mainly themed Garden Party and Bohemian Chic but also consisting of the following

I AIN'T FROM DALLAS- AND I DAMN SHOLE DON'T DTOWN BOOGIE

So this past weekend my newly named crew of fellow fashionistas- coined the "FASHIONISTA CARTEL" torby a close mutual friend and mentor decided to take over Dallas-at least in our minds. We spent two days in Dallas visiting Stacy C. Uzuh of StaceFace Make-up Bar at her modern midtown loft & perusing or at least attempting to the snow blazen streets of DALLAS, TEXAS..home of the COWBOYS, the infamously fatal & fruity DOUGIE & the best meal I have ever had at DENNY'S  since I started my fast- the ULTIMATE skillet HOLD the meat- GARCON.

Anyhow when myself and these ladies get together- we are definitely destined for trouble but not the bad kind- its the kind that almost gets you thrown into LOCK-UP but not quite...JUST kidding...;)...but yes we pulled out all the stops as far as fashion and even networking goes and in a city like Dallas- DARRRRLLLIIIINNNGG (in my Eartha Kitt voice) YOU MUST. So after we blessed the waiter Reginald at Denny's with our rendition of SHORT BUS SHAWTY- we got dressed in what?....ALL BLACK EVERYTHING of course- a color as forgiving as GOD himself  in which he probably wouldn't have had he seen how ratchet we all looked before the black in which we were almost mistaken for *insert gasp* DALLAS girls...oh the blasphemy- just kidding- shout out to all my DTOWN DIVAS.

After becoming effortlessly elegant we paid a prissy visit to a mutual modelesque maven Miss Mona Lisa & then had a prissy patroned dining experience at THE PORCH in Uptown Dallas...later the ladies & I embarked on a journey to Target for our frugal makings of mimosas which consists of the tantalizing taste of Cordon Negro Freixenet Brut & Simply Orange juice with Mango as we sipped the night away...THE END

....yeah right...it was our last night in DALLAS so the darling divas had to TEAR UP the town before we took our tasty tails back to our town of Austin, Texas. We found ourselves eyes bright, dresses tight & looking right at MainStreet Live where Terrell Owens & Adrian Peterson were hosting an ALL BLACK EVERYTHING SOIREE...needless to say the crowd was umm interesting to say the least but a few glasses of "water" later & your girls had everyone HIDING THEIR WIVES, HIDING THEIR KIDS & THEIR HUSBANDS/DOGS too cuz they were barking BOO... it was an end to an effervescent excursion to another land & time to return home but you know your girl first had to network per the instructions of my "publicist" Ebony N. Griffin of E-Luxe Global & that I did- so with that said- shout outs to Kali Nykol & the whole Party Vision team for showing your girl fashion love...

LAUNCH 787 PRESENTS MODERN HOME TOUR

Ok so in true diva style- I decided to jet-set the very next day after our Dallas Super Bowl trip back to A-town for work with only 4 hours of sleep #wheretheydothatat. Launch 787 proudly hosts annually the MODERN HOME TOUR & this year was no different an absolute success. We featured all areas of Austin and its austintatiously awesome architecture including my stomping ground of East Austin's newly contemporary area called Agave -south of the Sendero Hills subdivision.

This was also the first huge event worked by our new spring semester of interns who have been God-sends and its only month 2. Post-event in true Launch style we hosted our happy hour at the beautifully modern Bo Concept in the swanky 2nd Street District with a panel of industry professionals and lick your finger libations brought to us by Republic Tequila & Treaty Oak Rum. But it wouldn't be an event if I didn't take shots of some noteworthy and nicely dressed nouveaus in the midst. Here's to next year's MODERN HOME TOUR

UNTITLED- THE STORY OF MY LIFE!!!!

So this is only my 2nd post and I told myself in the new year that I would be a blogging buffoon- well just like Twitter & Rome.....nothing can be built in a day so be patient people geez...but anyhow I reside in what has become to me to be known as one of the greatest cities in the world or the "LIVE MUSIC CAPITAL OF THE WORLD"...I'll let you figure out where that is...anyhow my city is known for its casual couture definitely not pretentious in the least bit sense of the word when it comes to FASHION. Here people's idea of dressing up is wearing a collared shirt instead of a t-shirt and wearing loafers instead of the usual flip-flops which by the way I absolutely despise- only because I have horribly wide feet and I'm a bit envy green...but anyhow welcome to my hometown of Austin, Texas which will be featured in most of my posts since I do rep my city...KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD & DOMO EVEN WEIRDER!!!!!
