So talk about a way to start a weekend...one of my closest college sister-friends and creative director behind the FashionSICK brand- Melarie aka Celery aka the Brain to my Pinky is now engaged to the allustrously awesome Mr. Kevin Odelusi and top off this fabulous fashion filled Friday- today marks the beginning of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at NY's Lincoln Park showcasing the debut of designer's Fall/Winter 2011 collections...it was also a major milestone because my niece has decided to follow in her aunt's seemingly sophisticated fashion footsteps and launch a mini-couture career of her own by assisting me as Creative Director of my new ready to wear collection- as well as walking in her first amateur fashion showcase as a apart of her high school and my alma mater's African American Culture Club's Annual Fashion Show geared at awareness and celebration of Black History Month and its contribution to the fashion culture. All in all today was filled with fierceness all around as I sachayed around town with my mimosa hued double buttoned blazer, cream under sweater, dark denim jeans and brown faux leather thigh high boots accented with my Michael Kors gold watch and newly fresh to def deep burgundy and black bob....SOMEBODY STOP ME....better yet how bout you don't and say you did!!!
