MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK FALL/WINTER 2011 RECAP

February & September are scintillating fairytales in the world of fashion. Every fashionista knows that these months mimic the magical movement that is Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and as all my fashion followers know- I have to hit you with my recap of the latest in luxury looks for the upcoming seasons. I took note of lots and lots of layering in many collections which we all know has no place in the Texas weather but was definitely lovely to look at as well as a resurgence of the regale that was the fashions of the 1940's whether in daywear or elegant eveningwear pieces, fierce furs that after watching a snippet of PETA's video I would RATHER go without and even gazed at a few geometrics and handpainted pieces.  So without further fashion adieu I give you DeVeReaux's Fall/Winter 2011 Recap ( in alphabetical order) I have selected my top looks from the top designer by initial

There were 5 designers in A but the authentically true to a woman's attitude was none other than the classic simplicity of ADRIENNE VITTADINI who brought back some the fashion game's baddest beauties such as Carol Alt- as featured above, Niki Taylor, Pat Cleveland and Roshumba

Next in the B's were the incomparable team of Badgley Mischka- these two men are unmistakenly movers and shakers with these homage to the glamour of Hollywood in the 1940's

Next is my baby boy wonder representing the C's- Project Runway's very own Christian Siriano whose entire collection was couture. He once interned for the vivacious Vivienne Westwood and the late great Alexander McQueen so this cutie was destined to dive into the scene

In true diva style the D's were represented by none other than Donna Karan New York. This season's collection was simple with hues of slate gray, taupe and beige while also dramatic with draping and I absolutely loved the hair- the extra high chignon bun atop the crown of the head has been my latest look as well

Elie Tahari always eloquently eludes the look of men mixed with women with his sophisticated suiting and sportswear

Farah Angsana represented in this ravishing red reveal of a little leg- the perfect come hither honey hue

Guishem gave us geometrics, texture, animal prints with colored tights creating a look with a futuristic edge

Herve Leger by Max Azria- mixed up a bit away from the usual bandage madness to give us gladiator glamour with gold accent and HL hardware

LAMB by Gwen Stefani always lays on the lap of androgeny while maintaining the allure of the lady that rocks the look. I love love love women's suiting- its so sexy & slinky in black

The three looks above were created by Mara Hoffman "discovered" by the legendary Patricia Field and known for her intricate hand crafted work and painting ability- all these looks had a great attention to detail

Representing for the men was MIK CIRE- everything he created was made for the modern man and it showed throughout all his work. I wanted to snatch every male model on that runway hmmmmm yummy

Coined the next Normal Norell and of course with the same namesake came Norman Ambrose whose tribute to the tasteful 1940's tease of fur and flair was also dually noted- did I mention I love women's suiting

Nice with a hint of naughty comes Naeem Khan who dresses top celebrities and always maintains a slinky sophistication in his styles

This haute couture dress jacket screamed high drama created by the unpretentious Pamella Roland with the what appear to be hand embroidered water lily flowers

Representing for the R's this year I was underwhelmed by the quintessential Ralph Lauren and went with Rebecca Minkoff just because I fell in love with this leopard jumpsuit

Extremely cohesive and slinkily sexy was Son Jung Wan with accents of fur

And none other than my favorite Japanese designer and probably one of my favorite designers EVER- Tadashi Shoji- representing for the T's with this whimsical one sleeved ensemble

Opulence and elegance with a hint of Vixen is Venexiana and all of her pieces were so avant garde and gorgeous especially this metallic liquid gold piece

Definitely not the end all be all but definitely an end to an awesome fashion week was Zang Toi's rich and regale RTW at least in my mind- if I could wear a ballgown everyday it would definitely be this gasp for air envy green gown

Fashionably Yours,
