Its that time again for THROWBACK THURSDAYS: this week we bring out the fashions & the music of Biggie and Bad Boy. As many know this week, March 9th, 2011 marked the 11th year anniversary of the death of Christopher Wallace better known as "THE NOTORIOUS BIG" and I would be remissed if I did not pay homage to the style and influence that he and all of BAD BOY have had on music and fashion. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE SONG BY BIGGIE & subsequently BAD BOY?
For pushing the style envelope alone I had to go with MO MONEY MO PROBLEMS:
Styled by June Ambrose who is my style goddess (I follow her on twitter lol ) which says alot cause I only follow those worth following- and directed by hip hop empresario- HYPE WILLIAMS this video definitely changed the game with all the bright colors. With her fashion savvy- June Ambrose influenced Bad Boy- initially Sean Diddy Puffy Puff Daddy Diddily Diddily Dee Combs to create the multi-million dollar brand of Sean John that now provides suits for the suave sophisticate of a man. He even continues to beat us over the head with the BAD BOY BRAND by creating t-shirts with brass and bold statements such as "NO B****A**NESS" & "VOTE OR DIE"...
BEFORE
AFTERHe was the first man of color outside of Tyson Beckford & Kanye West of course that I had seen rock the sheen of metallic so well from slate grey to gold and gave me the notion that my future husband will wear color during our nouveau nuptials. I don't know any other black man that works as hard as he does at marketing himself to appeal to the masses and I for one respect his hustle
Then there was Versace and Coogi- we won't even get started on how influential Biggie was rocking the Versace shades and Coogi Sweaters- to the point where every hood negro thought he had to have both to be considered a real thug. Anything that these men touched turned to gold.....
Ten years from now we'll still be on top
Yo, I thought I told you that we won't stop
Now whatcha gonna do when it's cool
bag a money much longer than yours
and a team much stronger than yours, violate me
this'll be your day, we don't play

I definitely look forward to where they will be all be 10 YEARS from now- when they are still on top. I hope to find longevity in my career and if not I damn sure wouldn't mind a piece of his pie
As always signed Fashionably Yours,
